NEALS' Beachside Chat: Equity or Advantage? Thoughts on Grading for Students with Learning Differences in the Chemistry Classroom
Our June conversation on equitable grading reminded us that grading is about far more than policies and practices, it is also about identity, trust, relationships, and the lived experiences of educators and students alike.
During this Beachside Chat, we invite you to hear directly from a classroom teacher as they reflect on their own journey through conversations around grading, equity, and supporting students with learning differences. Together, we will explore what these conversations look like from the classroom perspective, the questions that emerge, the tensions that exist, and the moments that have led to growth.
This offering will be facilitated by Chris Ouellette, NEALS' President. Please join him as he welcomes a former colleague, Megan Labbatte, to share about her experience as they partnered to support a student within Megan's Chemistry classroom.
